Agents love pre-approved home shoppers
January 26th, 2007 4:41 PM

I work closely with agents in the Oklahoma City area and they tell me time and time again that they wish more potential buyers would get pre-approved before beginning the home purchase process.  They understand that you might begin your home search before seeking home approval but once you're ready to start looking at homes it's a good idea to get pre-approved first.

Why you ask? Two simple reasons.
1. It allows you to know exactly how much home you can afford.
2. You won't waste your time looking at homes that don't fit in your budget.

I understand that you don't want to feel locked into a deal until you're ready to buy.  That's why my pre-qual letter comes with no strings attached.  Once you've been pre-approved, you can shop for homes and then let me know how I can help you close the deal.

Feel free to post your questions to this blog or give me a call.

I'm just starting to search for my first home. I don't want to buy until the summer. How far in advance to I need to get pre-approved?

Susan, that's a great question. You can get pre-approved whenever you like. I recommend doing it early so you know what type of home you can afford. This makes the home search easier. If you want to fill out the short app on my site we can get you pre-approved. Or give me a call, whichever you prefer.
